can somebody please let me know how
you make new melodies for the razr v3,
i can type in letters & numbers but
i dont know anything about music.

There are many ways to do this. You could cut an MP3 file to size with
Audacity (e.g. to cut off the intro), save the result in MP3 format
again (up to 192kps) and put it on the phone using bluetooth OBEX object
push.
Another way would be to use Motorola Phone Tools to put the file on the
phone.

Clip some CD tracks as mp3 files with freely available software (I use
Audacity) *or*, just grab some of the free tones available over the 'Net.
You can easily put them on your mobile with cable or Bluetooth *unless* your
'phone has been "airtime provider" knobbled. As you're possibly in the UK I
doubt you'll have the latter problem.
