Re: Motorola Phone Tools Help
I understand your frustration. You need to uninstall the program and
then go into device manager and remove any entry that contains
"motorola" such as in Modems "motorola USB modem" also check ports and
bluetooth devices. Once all that is cleared out, install MPT one more
time. DO NOT PLUG IN THE PHONE!!
Run MPT and wait till tells you to plug in the phone. If you plug in the
phone before you are asked to you'll have problems. Also, use the USB
cable provided by Motorola. It shouldn't make any difference but it
can - I've seen for myself.

Regardless, it's pretty much worth what you paid for it. (That means
it's mediocre software.)

What you are doing is nonetheless stealing, and you certainly won't get
any such help from me. If your copy was legitimate then you could get
support. That your illegitimate downloads are buggy isn't terribly
surprising -- much of that crap is infected with viruses.

I've had no problem (other than long update downloads) with a legitimate
old copy live updated to the latest version (4.5.1c).

Re: Motorola Phone Tools Help
My legal copy of MPT is also giving me lot of problems. Currently it
is not possible to transfer files like pics from the phone to pc but
it is possible to transfer from pc to phone. Everytime I connect the
phone to the pc it says "transmissions cancelled". Great phone but
s*it software.

Just because you are having problems?
My copy works fine.

Regardless of which install you did, if you are at 4.23, MPT should check
for updates at startup time. That used to be conigurable, but I thought it
was automatic now. If not, browse to menu, setup, live update.

It doesn't really matter. It's crappy software.

It _does_ really matter -- what you think about the software is totally
irrelevant.

Then you must have had a defective cable.
The Motorola cable works fine when not defective.

The guy said he got it *FREE* with his phone. Jeez...go back to editing
