Re: Bad SIM, HELP

Thanks for the reply. I tried it again and no go. I don't have
anything stored that I can't easily put back in so I will get
another sim. The sim is a Cingular 64 so must I get one from them
or can I buy one? What is the best sim for this phone? Thanks.

I'd try the sim in another phone to isolate whether you actually have
a SIM issue, or a phone mistakenly accusing your SIM of being bad.

If the SIM is bad, you'll need to talk with your provider about
getting a new one. Whether you can find a phone or external device
that'll read your contacts off the sim will be another matter.

First, you need to take teh ammount of caffeine you consume in a day
and cut it in half. It should cut down on the duplicate postings
here. :-)

You need a SIM from Cingular because they need to issue them and
activate that SIM on your account and deactivate the old SIM. SIMs
are provider specific, and I don't think you'll find a provider
that'll activate a used SIM on their network.

And they aren't expensive.

If you have no data to worry about, it's no cause to get all up in
arms--just visit any cingular place tomorrow and they'll be happy to
help you get a new sim. If you're impatient, call cingular customer
service and perhaps they have a way to assist.

Benefit of going to the store is they can pop the sim in another phone
and tell you if you have a phone issue or a sim problem.

Best Regards,

Re: Bad SIM, HELP

talk to customer service at 800-331-0500, they may provide a free sim or
send you to a corporate store to pick one up. Otherwise they cost $25 and
with a few clicks of the computer the new sim will have your service on it
and the old sim will be for the garbage can. Cant activate old sims, only
can keep as a storage device for your contact numbers.
