I enjoy making my own ring tones for razr v3 which I have owned for a few
weeks. I just wish there is more base so I can hear the beats. Even better
    if I can feel them.

Does motorola make any phone that plays music better than a razr v3, and has
similar features (quad band, bluetooth, very hackable)? I don't mind it
being a bit larger/thicker for good base.

    Hi Peter,

    I'm not aware of any.

There are a few problems with what you're seeking: the market demands
that cell phones be small, light and have long battery life. All of
these are diametrically opposed to good bass response on the speaker,
which is best evaluated at how intelligibly it deals with voice.

The Krazr K1's speakerphone is a heck of a lot better (for voice
conversations) than the v3 that I had, but you're still dealing with a
small speaker that won't produce decent bass at any audible volume.

There might be a phone out there marginally better than what you have
    for what you want though.

However, unless there is an untapped market of tens of thousands out
there seeking a mobile subwoofer with quad band GSM capability, I
doubt any manufacturer will produce something truly satisfying any
time soon. And if they did, I'm not sure you'd wanna carry it around!

    Best Regards,

Peter as any true audiophile would know that sound and feeling of bass
is due to the movement of air by a large speaker cone. Without that
large speaker cone you can not come close to any resemblance to bass
frequencys. There are obvious limitations to the little speaker that
comes with cell phones just as there is limitations to the small ear
buds that come with a cheap walkman/Ipod as compared to that with what
you hear from a $300.oo headset. Are you in understanding with what I
endevour to convey to you? When I make up and transfer ring tones I
take advantage of the crisp and clear highs of the tweeter frequencys.

    It's called "bass," sonny.

V365 has an outstanding speaker for it's size. But bass? No - sorry.

The speaker in the V3xx is quite a bit better than the V3, and there's a
Bass Boost option that's moderately effective.
