I saw Verizon had the Ve Maxx RAZR phone for their network and I got to
wondering if ATT would carry that phone but with modifications for their
    network? Possible?

See More: RAZR Ve/V6 Maxx for Cingular/ATT?

The GSM model is the v6 Maxx. I bought one from a Hong Kong dealer in
January and I've been happily using it on TMo ever since. The current
model is Tri-Band but if it's announced in the US it will be quad-band.
With the v8 and v9 on their way I'm not sure we'll actually see ATT or
    Tmo sell this this one.

*IF* I was to get one of those, would I simply take the sim card out of my
V3xx and stick it in the V6 and have it work just fine? I ask because I was
told on another forum that the V6 doesn't support 850/900 spectrum and that
is what most towers are thus loosing out on all service if I wasn't in a
major metropolitian area. Currently I'm in a rural mountainous area and I
do get cingular services in the small towns/cities in western Virginia.

The V6 Maxx does GSM and WCDMA.

V8 is GSM only and therefore no direct competitor for the V6.

That makes no sense. The v6Maxx is also GSM (there is a diffenet model
for CDMA) and is therefore a direct competitior to the v6. I have a v6
MAxx working on TMO, a GSM carrier. The v9 also has WCDMA further
eliminating the need for a carrier to offer the v6.

The v6Maxx does not support 850 (it does support 900 but that does you
no god in the USA). I use mine with TMo which uses 1900 and some roaming
on ATT's 850 but I've never been without serive in the US. ATT has both
1900 and 850 so you need both for best coverage. It really depends on
where you live and commute to. Check which towers serve your area.

To answer the other part of your question, yes, just move the SIM from
    one phone to the other.
