We discussed this some time ago and I was able to restore the web
sessions menu on my Tmobile V3 Razr at that time, and make an
appropriate java session to get Opera Mini to work.

My Razr worked after all that thanks to Bruce R!

The old Razr is getting well, old, and I may get something newer soon.
But I thought I would try a V555 I have on hand. The V555 does have
what is missing from the Razr, specifically EDGE.

I tried the V555 some time ago with a prepaid sim and opera mini and I
was able to access the internet with both the motorola browser and
with Opera mini at that time. Inexplicable since the prepaid had no
internet access. But it did work, and someone posted that due to a
bug in MMS all Tmobile US customers secretly had internet access for
    some time.

The V555 does not have the web sessions menu suppressed like the Razr
did, so a seem edit seems unnecessary.

In any case, I subscribe to the $5.99 Tzones on my Razr and Opera Mini
does work ok albeit slowly with no edge.

I put my SIM in the V555 and Opera Mini times out, it's not working.
I checked the Java session between the two phones and it is identical.
So the Razr works, the V555 does not. Everything else seems the same.
Java session is set as default.

Here's the Java session as it appears in both devices.
    >> Name: Java Session
    >> Homepage: http://wap.myvoicestream.com
    >> Service Type 1: WAP
    >> Proxy1: 216.155.165.050

    >> Service Type 2: HTTP
    >> Proxy 2: 216.155.165.050
    >> Port 2: 8080
    >> Domain 2: (blank)
    >> DNS 1: 000.000.000.000
    >> DNS 2: 000.000.000.000

    >> Line Type 2: ISDN
    >> GPRS APN: wap.voicestream.com

One thing I did notice (and this is the case on both devices) is when
it asks whether I want to access data network it says :80 at the end.
Port 80 which is apparently blocked.

But it's working on the Razr that way.

I tried the tmobile online configurator which sent me a locked
session that works, but it worked before with the motorola browser.
What doesn't work now is the Opera browser.

I downloaded the Opera Mini 4 beta 2, no difference.

    Does anyone have any ideas?

Ok, I did all that. OPERA MINI now WORKS!
    Unbelievable.

I loaded the 2.9 USB drivers installed as a .msi file downloaded from
    Motox

I set that java session as default, and Opera Mini works.

    Thanks for your help!

I checked further, and found there were some DNS entries on the java

    The DNS settings are
    216.155.175.40
    216.155.175.41

There don't seem to be DNS entries on any of the other web sessions I
    have. They are all zeros.

    09/08/07 08:39:49 dns 216.155.175.41
    nslookup 216.155.175.41
    Canonical name: m29af9bd8.tmodns.net
    Addresses:
    216.155.175.41
Those look like the are the tmobile dns settings and are legit.
The razr doesn't have any such entries, and it does work with opera
mini and with the motorola browser.

    It's still not working.

    Anyone have any ideas?
