The AT&T folks (at least the ones they let us customers talk to) just
aren't that bright. They only know their own little domain and may
not get out of their cubicles long enough to visit a WalMart, or don't
know the big picture view that WalMart might have deals on equipment
that they themselves don't, or the complexities of large corporate
negotiations aren't shared with them.

Now, WalMart's availability on these probably does vary
geographically. In the Chicago suburbs, I still saw my $79 Krazr K1
at a Wal mart as recently as 3 weeks ago. And I've seen mention of
this price from a few different posters on this forum, IIRC (though
not recently).
