Razr V3a

My grandson recently got a Razr V3a and I can not get it to work with Mobile
Phone Tools. Mobile Phone tools claims it can not recognize
this phone and searches online and indicates that I have the lastest
updates. I have tried both the cable that came with MPT 4.?? and bluetooth
and it does the same with both.

I personally own a v710 and it works fine with that phone. I have tried
there other motorola phones and they all work, just this V3a doesn't.
Any ideas or suggestions?

You may need to update the V3a to the latest version of software.

The Motorola Software Update site is at:

http://direct.motorola.com/hellomoto/support/update

Try heading over to http://www.motomodders.net/
You will need to sign up....which is free but you must have a user name and
password to download.
Once you have a login you will see that there are downloads available...you
need the P2K tools.
This will allow you to tranfer files between your computer and the phone.
Very useful for putting games on your phone which MPT will not do.

Did you really get this to work with only the P2K tools? Don't you
have to install your phone's drivers correctly first then put your
phone in service mode? I know I did.
