#1 | | Guest | When I transfer MP3 with M-Explorer, it seems to take ages. I have tried
Motorola Phone tools but that converts everything to mono sound.
I have a 1 GB card in my K1. When I plug the 1GB card directly into a
card reader on my PC the files fly across, but my K1 won't play them. It
says file is unreadable.
Whats the best way to get MP3 from my PC to my K1?
Also Whats the highest sampling freq and bit rate that the K1 will support?
TIA

Use File Transfer in MPT, which doesn't change the sound.

If it's similar to current RAZR models (which it probably is):
<http://cell.wikia.com/wiki/Motorola#V3xx_audio_player>
* Formats
* MP3: Supports MPEG Audio Layer 3 bitrate up to 256 kbps average
(320 Kbps peak), sufficient for audio quality indistinguishable from CD
originals.
* AAC: Supports Advanced Audio Coding bitrate up to 320 kbps,
sufficient for audio quality indistinguishable from CD originals.

Which carrier crippled this phone? I have a 2GB in my Alltel Z6m. It's
only trouble is the stupid Music Player can't be told to play ONLY the MP3
on the external card so I also plays my MP3 ringtones on internal memory.
It plays all the MP3s downloaded from Usenet just fine with Alltel
firmware, so doesn't the Alltel RAZRs.
I think your SELLphone carrier loaded it up with crippleware to SELL you
music, the bastards.
I smell VERIZON....(snif)(snif). Smells like an interstate outhouse...(c; | | | |

I did not write that. Please be more careful when quoting.

Most people don't look that carefully.
Apology accepted.

Most Moto phones support up to 192 bit rate. If you can copy one of
the built in music ring tones to your PC, hover the mouse over the file name
in My Computer, and the bit rate should show in the bubble window that pops
up. That may not be the max your phone will handle, but at least you'll
know what it will play.
As stated in a previous reply, MPT will not convert your songs in any
way (mono/stereo, bit rate, etc) if you use the File Transfer Studio to move
them from PC to phone.

#8 | | Guest | I would need to test this, but ... I believe you can xfer using a card
reader, but ensure you put the files in the correct directory. I used MPT
but noticed thqt the files went into the audio sub-dir. Ensure the correct
format, ie. mp3, aac ..., and put in the correct directory. I think this
works.

I do it the same way only I drop them into the audio directory on the
card. works great./note/ if your doing it via usb cable to the phone,
you must tell the phone to swit ch to the memory card first. and I
don't use mpt to do it | | | | |
