    Donny:
Have you checked with a Verizon Store? The one near me has factory
refurbished StarTacs and exchange them for $ 50.00. This is a lot less than
sending back to Motorola plus there is no waiting. I just exchanged my
StarTac because of a problem. The refurbished one looks like a brand new one
and works great. Worth checking if you want another StarTac. Exchanging does
not affect your contract or extend it.

I have version 6654, should my local Verizon tech be able to upgrade
this for me? How do I find the nearest repair depot?

I agree, this is a great phone. I bid on a refurbished one from
Midwest Cellular, we'll see how that goes.

    Thanks!

I did, Joe, when I brought it in. They said they were ancient, laughed
a little at the antique in my hand, and offered to sell me a new
    phone, (of course).

I don't get the feeling that my local store is gonna be much help
    here, it's a small town.

    Thanks

    Donny

Maybe ask at the store that's laughing at your old phone. Tell them you
want to get the software flashed and you need the location of the nearest
    repair shop.
