Re: T-720 Blank Screen
That has happened to me also. It seems to be a problems with this particular
model. Anyone have any suggestions to solve this problem? Thanks for the
reply.

I had a consistent problem with my T720 freezing when it was on and
charging and the battery reached fully charged. It would also appear
to work but you couldn't hear anything and the caller couldn't hear
you when it reached fully charged.
I am a reasonably heavy user so I went to my provider's local store
and asked for an upgrade. The woman who helped me admitted that they
have been having a major spate of complaints about the same thing.
They agreed to upgrade me to a T730 for a token charge. I left it
powered up and in the desk charger last night and, so far no freezing
up.
Interestingly, the woman said their Motorola rep told them the bug was
intentional "To make you turn off the phone when charging"
Ridiculous! This would completely negate the use of the desk charger,
the car charger, it is not mentioned in the manual and if they really
wanted it off I am sure they could program the software to turn it off
when you plugged the phone it. They just screwed up and won't admit
it.
What puzzles me is why the provider doesn't just call Motorola and
tell them they have irate customers, they are replacing them with
730's, Motorola will eat the expense or they will switch to Nokia.

Does the T730 fit all the same accessories as the T720 (data cable,
power cord, car kit)?

Re: T-720 Blank Screen
News flash, the blank screen problem has migrated to the 730. Mine just went
black this morning. Got another, lets see how long it lasts. I had 2 720s
and 2 730s in one month and the month has not ended yet.

Re: T-720 Blank Screen
Jeffrey,
The t730 is a really great upgrade from the t720. I had the t720 and
experienced nothing but problems and freezing...the only difference
between the t730 and the t720 besides the great software and firmware
upgrades is the front face is different...verizon installed the pro-car
kit in my car for a v60, i had them switch the hang up cup to the t720,
and the t730 works just fine with that kit. glad to be of help

720 and 730 are the same phone, just 730 has newer software and changed
cover on front, but cover can be put on 720,good luck with your newer
version 720,also all 720 equipment works on 730 since they are the same
phone.

Thanks. No problems with my 2nd T720, at least so far. But if I do,
it's good to know that I can upgrade without needing to replace the
installed car kit, too.
