Although my phone is a Motorola 120t, my friend has an Audiovox phone that
is about two years old plus an apparently older data cable with a serial
connector instead of USB. Of course, his year-old laptop doesn't have a
serial port. Can he just use conventional adaptors to go from serial to
USB, or does he need to get the real cable (which may not even be available
now)?
