Hi I have the T720 phone with the 19D version of firmware and was
considering upgrading to the latest version. I believe it's like 2DP
or something like that. I was wondering if anyone knows the benefits
of upgrading and if it's worth it or not? Thx.

Absolutely, it is worth upgrading. The menus are much more responsive.
2dp is rumored to have more stability when it comes to retaining a signal
and not alternating between analog and digital, but I've heard other people
say that it's just as bad so who know. I have noticed nothing that would
make me recommend against upgrading to 2dp. If only for the menu
responsiveness, upgrading is totally worth it. There is also a 5dp (I
think that's it) out, although I have not tried that one yet.

Re: motorola t720 firmware
You are actually two versions behind -- the latest firmware version is
1.2.33.44.5P, which is the same as the T730 firmware. It provides much
more stability (bug fixes), 1X capability for GIN and WAP, etc. It is
definitely worth upgrading...

Re: motorola t720 firmware
Hi all. It may be a dumb question, but how do I find out which version I
have on my T720? Also, how do I upgrade it? I have the cable to link the
phone to my computer but no software. Thank you in advance.

Re: motorola t720 firmware
To determine version, navigate the menus as follows:
Main Menu
Settings
Phone Status
Other Information
S/W Version
To upgrade, just take the phone to any competent (sometimes difficult to
find) VZW service store -- they will flash it to to latest version.

My 720 claims it's "T720PM_6_05.20.OCR" and in "Version SW DSP", 0000391A".
Now I'm more confussed....

Re: motorola t720 firmware
I just renewed my Contract with Cingular and got the T720 for free. My S/W
version is T720_6_05.08.81R
Is that the lastest and the greatest for mine?
