I am looking for some help on how to get my Timeport 270c phone to act as a
modem for my notebook computer. I have a USB to phobne cable, what I am looking
for is the USB software driver. I called Motorola and they told me to download
and install "True Sync" from their site. After some searching on the web, it
seems to me that I don't need or want to install that whole package. Does
anyone know where I can download just the USB drivers (or "accessors" as they
are called). All help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Joe B

Re: Timeport 270c usb drivers...
Joe - you need the USB driver, not an "accessor". True Sync acts as a
conduit for data transfer between computer and Palm Pilots, phones, and PIM
software such as Outlook, Sidekick, Act etc. Each "accessor" acts as the
interface between True Sync and hardware or software.
You don't want an accessor you want the USB driver. Try Alltel web site.
While in while out west I needed the 270 USB cable and software and found it
at an Alltel phone store.

Re: Timeport 270c usb drivers...
Dave,
Thnak you for the reply and information. I checked the Alltel site but they
didn't have anything. In a previous post Dave gave me a link to a download, it
is a modem .inf file, so I think it will work. I am just waiting for my cable
to arrive. Thanks again for the help.

Download the .exe file from that link. It'll install the necessary
files. I don't think an .inf alone will work.

Re: Timeport 270c usb drivers...
Doug,
You are correct, I needed both files. I received the cable yesterday and
installed the modem driver. Works like a charm! Thank you for the help and
link!!
