Outside Antenna connection for StaTAC

I want to hook up an outside antenna on my boat to my StarTAC. However, I
already am using the connector port on the bottom of the StarTAC to connect
to my computer and charger. Is there something available to allow me to
remove the antenna from the phone and replace it with a fitting that I can
connect to a coax? I think the antennas come with a TNC connector??

Re: Outside Antenna connection for StaTAC

The best way to connect an external antenna to a StarTAC is through the
bottom port. I have never seen any adapter that replaces the built-in
antenna. Also, I am not aware of any currently available cable that has
data, power and antenna connectors. Motorola used to make a RF adapter
that had a pass-through for the data port that would work perfectly for
your needs. Unfortunately it is no longer available. You can see a
picture of it at:

Maybe you could look for it on ebay.

If you need to keep the data connection, then a "universal" type antenna
adapter may help. Cell Antenna Corp. sells one type that they call the
Unikit:
