I have Motorola StarTAC phone with Verizon wireless service. The phone
does not ring in certain areas when I travel. However I do get a beep
indicating that someone called but no ring. I can make calls though
    from these areas.

    Thanks.

Re: Motorola StarTAC does not ring in certain areas

I've been experiencing the exact same thing in the Pocono's of Pa..
Everytime I talk to tech support I get a non-answer. So apparently they
aren't too worried about it. I've had the problem since I went digital.
I used my Ultra LiteII for years up there and it worked great, as soon as I
went digital, can't receive any calls, go figure..............

    Give this a try.

When roaming on an analog Verizon partner this summer in Yosemite Park
area, pressing *18 allowed "registration" of my phone on the network.
Afterwards incomming calls were then directed to my handset instead of
    all going to voicemail.
Making an outgoing call first did not help. *18 was required to
    receive calls.

*350 registers the handset in the few Verizon markets that are A side.

ahhhhh the old manual following me roaming trick!
I worked for Bell Atlantic Mobile for 6.5yrs, and knew of that method,
however with the auto SIDS preprogrammed in the phones, you aren't supposed
    to need that.........
    However, I will try that...................
Plus if I receive calls with an old analog phone in the same area, and my
digital is in analog mode, I "should"
    receive the call.
