Hi there,
I am very new to this, and have a T720 and would like to upload games and
stuff to it. I have PST v 4.81, win XP and a serial cable on the cingular
network. I can get the proggy to recognize my phone, but can not write
anything to it. Any ideas? I understand a USB is out of the question with
PST and XP. Is there a better way?
Thanks so much,
SG

Re: PST probs. I need someone's expertise!
Suggestion 1 is get PST version 6.0 you are WAY behind.(personal preference,
some may not agree) Second lose XP. Was never designed to work with XP. Now
that I have given you the bad news, here's some good news.
GO HERE: http://www.beavermjr.com/t720/software/index2.cfm
Check this guys site out. very good and may just be what you need.

Re: PST probs. I need someone's expertise!
PST 6 works great with XP! I have been using it over and over. Moved many
of ringtones and pictures with it, along with EMS manager. But be careful
with it. Experimenting with can cause you to fry your phone. I only use it
for
ringtones and pictures. I'm afraid to do anything else with it.

Re: PST probs. I need someone's expertise!
The fact that yoiu have gotten it to work is just great. There are many who
have gotten it to "work" There is a "work around" on Beavers page as well.
But as I stated, PST was not deigned to work with XP and is not
recommended. There is a stability that is required when FLASHING a phone
that is important. There are warnings that come with the software that is
provided to the Motorola Service Centers to NOT run it on XP. Although you
may never have a problem, remeber this, it is one thing to be using XP to
change your WakeUp Logo or saving your PhoneBook or Changing Browser
Setiings/Wallpaper. It is completely different when using PST to do a
complete Firmware FLASHING or FLEXING of a customers phone that will cost
you say $350 to replace if you fry it. But you may also one day have a
problem flashing a phone due to XP and never know it. Anyone who uses PST in
a Service Center capacity will not use XP or Millenium. The choice, of
course, remains yours and we wish you well. Our purpose is merely to inform
in fact.

Re: PST probs. I need someone's expertise!
Well, if you try to flash your phone you are a stupid ass anyway ( even if
you could get the firmware) when you can take it to verizon and have it done
for free.
Why in the world would you tell someone to lose their operating system just
to use PST? That is really stupid! All I was stating is that XP works fine
for ringtones and pictures which is what I want to use it for. I'm sure that
is what that person wants to do, too.
Not to FLASH or FLEX their phone! I think you are trying to sound a little
to technical.

Re: PST probs. I need someone's expertise!
Im sorry, my mistake thinking I was talking to someone who had the ability
to actually "use" the software, not just "play around" with it. Thank you
for explaining your ineptness and that you use the software to backup your
phoneook. But then again, after a few seconds of reading your posts, I now
understand what I am dealing with. In case you didnt notice, the original
poster asked for someone's "expertise" not " I need someone who has backed
up their phonebook 3 or 4 times". You see, not everyone has their phone on
Verizon, possibly difficult for you to grasp, I know. Also, not everyone is
nearby a service center. Unlike yourself, we all can't just toss our phone
into the basket on the handlebars and just peddle down to the shopping
center on their way home from school.. Shocking to you once again, I know.
Anyway, I will let you go, I am sure you are working on tonites "Big
Project" loading a new WakeUp graphic that says "Eminem Rules!!"
SNIP <Why in the world would you tell someone to lose their operating system

No, what is REALLY STUPID is that you would even think that the comment was
indicating that the person should change their operating system or i
expected them to do that JUST TO USE PST. It was a figure off speech
indicating that XP was not the best choice for the situation. But once
again, your reply is what is expected from someone of your technical
prowess. All said and done, I will cut this off, I know how difficult it
must be to read this under your covers with a flashlite in your mouth.

SNIP <Why in the world would you tell someone to lose their operating system
just
to use PST? That is really stupid! >
SHHHH! Is Mommy comming? DAMN BUSTED AGAIN. "Please Mom, take anything, but
not my Olson Twin DVD set, I just got that from Skeeter Megenzie!!"

Re: PST probs. I need someone's expertise!
Someone who would go into such detail trying convince someone and themselves
that they
know that much definitely has a problem. I know I would never listen to any
advice you would give.
Chill out man!! Go Flex your phone.
