What/where are the instructions for sending the phone back to Motorola for
upgraded firmware? I've got nothing to lose at this point, so I might as well
try it.

Re: Motorola 270C and 2004 Acura TL?
Scott,
Have you been able to get it to work with anything else, like
non-Motorola head sets or as a modem? Thanks! I keep thinking about buying
one. I would love to get rid of some cables. Motorola still has some of the
Bluetooth modules on their website.

Re: Motorola 270C and 2004 Acura TL?
Thomas, forget Motorola. I just got a Bluetooth Module on EBAY for $22. The
guy had many as well as theyre always on there. Although I got lucky,
between $25 to $40 is what i say. Well worth at that price. Just remember
the EBAY trules, check the feedback etc. You might as well plan on sending
it right to Motorola for the free upgrade from Bluetooth 1.0 to 1.1. I have
a 270c and the module there as we speak. The other issue is will your 270c
firmware see the Module and thus bring up the Bluetooth Menu. And of course,
cant tell until you get the module. If your phone is Verizon, (see EMAIL
below from Verizon Wireless DATA) can tell you in advance, it will not.
Verizon has not, and has no plans to, approve Bluetooth on that phone and
thus doesnt have a version of their firmware that enables BT on the 270c. In
short, its a clusterf_ck, but fortunately a few of us are now "experts" the
hard way. Let me know should you need further assistance.
EMAIL from VZW:
Hello,
Thank you for contacting the Verizon Wireless website. As part of our Worry

us. We are happy to assist you with your
Bluetooth question.
You may be able to bring up the Bluetooth option; however, this is not a
connection that Verizon Wireless supports.
To get the phone to recognize the Bluetooth module, we have listed the
instructions below. It appears that you have already followed these
instructions.
1. Turn off the phone
2. Disconnect all cables from the phone
3. Remove the battery cover
4. Attach the Bluetooth module to the phone in place of the battery cover
5. Turn on the phone
6. Press [MENU], [Settings], [Connection]
7. Verify that your phone now displays the Bluetooth Link option
If you do not see Bluetooth option, please know that we do not have a update
for this phone to allow you to have this option. If you have additional
questions regarding the Bluetooth module on the

Yep! It works just fine with a BT headset, and I was able to make it dial a
number at 14.4Kbps when using the DUN profile (I didn't make an actual modem
connection, because I didn't have any modem numbers to dial handy).

Re: UPDATE Motorola 270C and 2004 Acura TL?
Current update. As of 11-17-03 I have called Motorola and been informed that
the Firmware update on my 270c and BT Module was completed today. It is to
be shipped out tomorrow, 11-18-03 by 2nd Day Air. If all goes well, I will
have by Thursday and will be able to report what firmware version it arrives
back with in the phone, not sure if the software will allow me to read
exactly what has been upgraded in the module, although the CSR has told me
that Notes from the Tech says upgraded firmware both Phone and BT Module.
As a matter of reference for those that will be shipping their to Moto, you
can expect a total turnaround time of 17 days, if my experience is to be
considered the "norm".
Thats my story, and Im sticking too it.

Re: PDA Man stars in "Getting Screwed By Moto-The Movie"
Hey Scott,
Well I'm caught in the "MOTO Zone" No phone. I should have posted but one
day has turned into another into another. Heres the scoop. As of my last
POST I was due back from Motorola "2nd day air" per the Moto CSR. That was 1
wwk ago Monday. When I called after the "2nd day air" due date had come and
go, I was told that there was NOTHING in the notes indicating the phone was
even done or due to have left, AND they were waiting for a part. Well
needless to say, I went off. "So what you are telling me is the last CSR
just fabricated a complete story and set of circumstances?" "Well all I can
tell you is what I see" says the Gentleman of Mexican descent. (After
numerous calls I have determined they are either outsourcing to Mexico or
hitting the Mexican labor pool (No slander intended, just fact, Everyone I
have talked to from the beginning of this is of Mexican/Spanish sound. I am
"assuming" this due to Proximity to Mexico of Moto Svc Center) So I asked
what part? It was a new " SYNxxxx (dont have actual # handy)Which I looked
up to be the Blue Tooth Module. So basically I am waiting. I believe a call
is in order today. So as of yesterday, the phone has been gone 3 weeks.
I will post after the call. So all I can say, I hope yours goes better and
without the flat out lies.

Re: PDA Man
New Update:
As I had stated, I made the call to Moto after I posted. Got the same "We
are awaiting a part (The Module) and that is all we can see oin the screen".
So I said OK, " Supervisor Time" They had me on hold about 25 minutes, came
back online twice with the "I cant find either of my 2 supervisors" and I
said, "fine I'll wait, I jave ALL DAY" (Had speakerphone and was fine just
sitting there, went back to computer and working away LOL) Finally got a
Supervisor. the Ol "How can I help you?" < So I was cool. told full story,
but my big point was that I had sent a phone exactly 3 weeks from today,
that WASN'T BROKEN, JUST A FIRMWARE UPGRADE! What is the deal? Well
amazingly, now the phone has been repaired, the module has been replaced and
the Tech Notes stated to have me download the PDF file with the Bluetooth
User Manual so I would know what I was doing! LOL So my question is WHAT
SCREEN WAS SHE USING? Anyway, now Im being told that they are pushing for
NEXT DAY AIR and call back tomorrow for tracking number. So, it's been a
joke, anyway you look at it. I will keep ya posted.
