Well, did you get it back? Any good news to report? Or did you post it already
and I somehow missed it? Also, if you wouldn't mind, can you check and see if
your newly upgraded 270C gives the filll 60 second countdown when you select the
"Await Link" option under the Bluettoh Connections Setup menu? My (buggy)
firmware times out and returns to the menu after less that ONE second, so I'm
womdering if the new update fixes the problem.

    Thanks!

    New Update:
As I had stated, I made the call to Moto after I posted. Got the same "We
are awaiting a part (The Module) and that is all we can see oin the screen".
So I said OK, " Supervisor Time" They had me on hold about 25 minutes, came
back online twice with the "I cant find either of my 2 supervisors" and I
said, "fine I'll wait, I jave ALL DAY" (Had speakerphone and was fine just
sitting there, went back to computer and working away LOL) Finally got a
Supervisor. the Ol "How can I help you?" < So I was cool. told full story,
but my big point was that I had sent a phone exactly 3 weeks from today,
that WASN'T BROKEN, JUST A FIRMWARE UPGRADE! What is the deal? Well
amazingly, now the phone has been repaired, the module has been replaced and
the Tech Notes stated to have me download the PDF file with the Bluetooth
User Manual so I would know what I was doing! LOL So my question is WHAT
SCREEN WAS SHE USING? Anyway, now Im being told that they are pushing for
NEXT DAY AIR and call back tomorrow for tracking number. So, it's been a
joke, anyway you look at it. I will keep ya posted.

Why couldn't the phone be flashed by the carrier?

Unfortunately thats the beginning of the story. Verizon will NOT support
Bluetooth. Their FIRMWARE is made to specifically not include the Bluetooth
Menu, thus when you buy the Bluetooth Module for the 270c, the Bluetooth
Menu will not appear. So the only source is directly to Moto (Lets say the
    easiest source)

I have been trying to get one flashed by Alltel. It is a new one
purchased from Cellpoint with a VZW sticker and firmware. Alas, there are
issues with it. It won't charge and it won't connect with a computer, so I
guess I am going to have to hope Alltel can get it repaired.

Also, although it is activated on Alltel, it dials VZW for a PRL update.

The Bluetooth module did work, but it is erratic with the Moto headset.
It sometimes won't make the automatic connection when you open the boom and
there is a bit of a delay when you it does.

Further, it isn't seen by my Ambicom Bluetooth cCF ard for the laptop.
It appears the phone may not support connecting to computers, but the issue
might be that the Ambicom doesn't see the phone. Bluetooth is starting to
look like a mess to me, as these things don't see each other as I thought
    they were supposed to.

Let's try to keep each other posted on results for this thing. When it
works, it is really wonderful. The speakerphone is also really nice, but I
don't think I want to pay the bulk price over a V60 just for the
    speakerphone.

Don't judge Bluetooth technology by the behavior of the 270C. Judging from my
own experiences as well as those of others that have been posted here, chances
are your 270C has buggy firmware at the very least.

There are other Bluetooth phones which work MUCH better.

    Scott,

Thanks for that info. Actually, after rebonding the headset, it got very
reliable, but there is clearly an issue with the phone. It won't charge,
won't connect to my PC or the carrier's computer. I activated it on Alltel
and the speakerphone is a delight, but it seems to keep using the VZW
network and goes to VZW for a PRL update! It was unlocked, but VZW branded.
The vendor, Cellpoint, said to send it back and they said they would replace
    it.
