    Hello all,

I have been using some free SMS services to try to download ringtones
to my V60i. So far, none have worked.

Motorola's site explains (very inadequately) the message format, and
also they say that their site is the only one they know of that works
    properly.

The problem is I have not found anywhere on their site to send an SMS
message unless I'm downloading a non-free tone from them, in which
case they're happy to send it to me.

What I want to do is find a ringtone I like and send it using a free
    service.

Their poor explanation of the format is here:

Step 1) The tone is received via an SMS message with the words
"tone:tonename" in the body of the message

Step 2) Read the message (the first time the message is played the
    tone will automatically sound!)

Step 3) Press the MENU key

Step 4) Select 'Play' to play the tone

Step 5) Select 'Store Tone' to store the tone

I have tried many variations of sending the tones I have found online,
but none of them have worked. They always come in as regular messages
and the phone does not recognize them as tones.

    Any help is appreciated.

PS - can I use RTTL format?

    Thanks.

I'm having the same problem. I get the same results from Motorola.com.
There is a free ringtone to download.

did you figure out the answer yet?
