Does anyone know if the SIM card in the Blackberry is compatible with
other Nextel phones, and which ones they might be. I've dropped my
Blackberry quite a bit recently, and while I haven't damaged it, it
would be nice to have a spare phone that I can take when I know I'm
going to an area (like a manufacturing floor) where there is a high
probability of something happening to the phone.
Thanks for any advice,
Bob

What kind of Nextel iDEN Phone you currently have? Remember that if you are
under Southern LINC, you won't be able to use it on a Blackberry--these
Blackberries are useable only on Nextel-Powered Phones. What iDEN Phone you
have? Please let us know what phone you have.
You can also look it up at http://www.nextel.com/sim

I have the 6510. Its a Nextel phone. I've heard from two sources at
NexTEL that say that the SIM card is incompatible with all their
phones, except the 7510

Ridiculous! Nextel hires idiots.
I take my i80 chip and place it in my i730.. what i loose (well actually i
never had) is the ability to assign ringtones to contacts and a 600 #
phonebook
i take the same chip and place it in my blackbery... and all features are
there and i am on internet and email is fine
i take the same chip and place in my i95le and everything works.

I got my i530 yesterday. Popped my BlackBerry SIM into it, and it
worked! Its funny, a third person at Nextel told me it wouldn't work.
Does nextel offer any plans where you can go month to month without a
contract, if you have bought your own equipment?
