    Jamel...I had a i730 and bought the cable you got for free, however i was
    able to upgrade my 730 with no problems at all. If you go to
    motorola.com/iden to their software upgrade page and down at the bottom
    there are files that deal with issues with XP. I'm running XP Pro sp2 and
    had no problems doing so. Did the upgrage and GPS upgrade without a
    problem. Here is the link

    title to the one you want is iDEN USB Installation Application/USB Modem
    Driver...i hope this helps you....dont forget to reboot your system after
    installing
