I am not the one that has the cheap talk it is you. What facts am I
supposed to back up. You don't know the prices of the phones and I have to
provide you with a Nextel link? Now you say my opinion is worthless so if

So then the bottom line is that is competition will MAKE them sell phones
cheaper and not the outcry of the consumer. If enough people are unhappy and
refuse to buy this will give the same results. Then we would have to feel
sorry for Nextel because they will be getting screwed buy Motorola even
more. So tell us now. You must be one of those boys that sells Cells at the
mall. The wide eyed teenies that believe they are on their way to the top.
Now I understand where you are coming from. Good luck. I hope you find
    plenty of suckers.

    Re: I'm Coming to Nextel

Just remember that all cell companies have problems. Nextel has many.
But I feel that with the free incoming plan you can save lots of money.
Your first bill will be high because they charge you one month in
advance. So be ready to pay high. Don't forget to get the the insurance
that allows you to walk in and get your phone repaired at no extra
charge. It will cost you only 3.00 per month extra. It is called NSP
coverage. There is also a signal insurance that cost about 5.00 per
month. This covers lost or stolen phones.

Average out how many phone calls you make and how many you receive and
that way you will know how many mins to get on your plan. The free
incoming 500 is a great on if you know how to use it. get people to
call you back so that you can talk as long as you want or need to.

The reason that cell phones drop out is that the towers can only hold
so many calls. And when you leave on tower and go to another it will
drop you if the tower is full. Unlike other cell companies Nextel
towers will talk to each other to see if the nearest one can pick you
    up.

I have been with nextel for 5 years and have seen them improve over the
years. They still have a lot of growing to do but I hope that with the
merger between them and Sprint that they will change a few things for
the better. They need to do 7 pm nights. They need to be the first cell
complany to allow you to check your voice mail free of charge from your
cell. They need roll over mins and nextel to nextel mobile. But that is
    only my wish.

Hope that I was a help on your decision.

The market dictates the price. If we lived in a society that could actually
show some financial self-control, that might work. However, all cellular
manufacturers are selling plenty of phones. Where is the incentive to cut
    prices.

    > Then we would have to feel

Nobody said to feel sorry for anyone- you stated that they artificially
inflate prices. I stated facts that prove otherwise. I'm not sure where
the comprehension of that broke down.

    >So tell us now. You must be one of those boys that sells Cells at the

Actually, I've been in the workforce for longer than they have been alive
(by quite a few years) and have already worked my way to a position where
the topics being discussed here are part of the job, not just an uneducated
    guess or water cooler chat.

    could.

contradicted by the FACTS that I posted.

I'm not trying to impress anyone. You made an incorrect statement and I
corrected it. And from what I'm reading, you seem to be the only one that
    has a problem with it.

    >You are suppsed to be the

Who said that? The bottom line appears to be that you have a problem being
    contradicted.

    > Not doing so good little boy.

Your fear of being wrong might make that a better title for you. Besides, I
would be very willing to bet that you're not too far removed from the mall
teenies you refernced in your other post (at least not as far removed as I).

I posted facts- you posted opinion without facts.

    >What facts am I
    > supposed to back up.

None, but that weasn't the request. I asked you for facts to justify your
opinion. I didn't think it was that hard to understand.

    >You don't know the prices of the phones and I have to
    > provide you with a Nextel link?

Never said that either- please read slower and comprehend the message being

I'm more than willing to look at any documentation available that disproves
what I have claimed here- I said that in my original post. Your problem is
that you are far from the first person to make the claim that phone prices
are artificially inflated by the carriers, and NOBODY has been able to
provide more than an opinion to back it up. I post publically available
numbers that show just the opposite and you dismiss them without even
attempting to understand or research them. That is the move of a bonehead.

    >You are falling apart

Look diskwad. All I said was they were charging to much. I never said they
artificially inflated prices. You are so full of **** and know it now you
are trying to bail. Typical to the rest of your bull **** posts. You are the
one that should back up what you have said. I gave an opinion you posted
baseless bull****. Until you back up what you posted before then all you are
is lame. Grow up and get a real job little boy. Maybe a paper route might
fit your mentality. Over the top a bit little boy. Get a grip.

"Fear of being wrong" About what? answer some real questions here or go
away. "Put up or shut up" what? What are you babbling about?

I ask you to back up what you say and you post "Na look it up yourself"
This shows you are a fake and a fool. Boy with a paper asshole. You never
deny that you sell Nextel at the Mall. This type of crap is proof enough for
me. What in the world are you talking about when you say I must give a
source? Do you need a link to Nextel site to see the prices? You are really
    falling apart here sonny.

You have to be the stupidest poster I have seen on this site in some time.

Neither did you, although it has been quite a number of years since I worked
retail and now have more people reporting under me where I am than the
    building you work in.

    >This type of crap is proof enough for

How quickly you forget. Your original statement was, "Nextel sells at cost?
Who do you think you are trying to convince? " (taken from your original
post). I pointed out that you were indeed incorrect in this train of
thought. I also asked for any information you might have that backed up
your statement, because nobody has ever been able to contradict the facts as
outlined below. You have continued the streak and decided to resort to lame
personal attacks to deflect attention from your own inability to make a
valid argument. Your side of the discussion went exactly as it always does:
    1. Poster claims that the carriers are selling phones at a profit, basing
the post on nothing more than a uneducated hunch. (" Nextel sells at cost?
Who do you think you are trying to convince?")
    2. Poster dismisses all information contrary to his view, without the
benefit of even researching the facts presented. ("Want to buy some swamp
    land? ")
    3. Poster then launches a series of lame personal attacks, which ultimately
show the true IQ and social skills of the poster ("I am not the one with
    the ass for a
    mouth.")
    4. Poster never able to back up their initial claim with anything of any
substance. (still a work in progress for you)

Now, to address your personal attacks- I forgot more about cellular on my
way home today than you have ever known. This might be due to the fact that
I work in the industry (in a non-sales or marketing position) and actually
understand how these things work based on working experience, and don't post
based on a best guess. And before you accuse me of being a Nextel
cheerleader, you might venture over to the alt.cellular.sprintpcs newsgroup,
where another rocket scientist is making the same kind of claims about
Sprint. You'll notice that I've provided him with exactly the same type of
information about Sprint. There's a better than even chance that the
billing system your provider uses contains functionality that I recommended,
developed and tested (and this would represent one of the smaller
accomplishments on my resume). That probably causes issues for you, because
it should now be apparent that I am far removed from the picture you have
    been trying to portray.

So, for those of you too young or stupid to do a little research (which
would you be, John?), try this link:

    http://ccbn.10kwizard.com/xml/downlo...400&format=PDF
    taken from the Nextel site

    or maybe this one:

    http://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/da...2122-index.htm
    taken from the SEC site

    or maybe this one:

    taken from the CNN site

All of these contain the information you say doesn't exist, and were found
in less than three minutes. I could provide more, but I already know that
you'll dismiss these because they don't fit your agenda in this thread. And
unless you plan on dismissing all of this and lauching back into personal
attacks, this should represent the end of this thread.

Why don't you guys give it up. You are both right. Nextel wants almost $500
for the 860 and they may or may not be ripping you off. Either way NEXTEL
really DOES SUCK. They are very misleading in their sales practices. All I
wanted to do was increase the plan to more hours and they wanted me to renew
my contract. I can go on and on but it is not worth it. Nextel fits
corporate America better than the average family plain and simple. This is
why they use Motorola. has been servicing Police dept. all over the nation
and have always been inflated pricing.

So now you're accusing Nextel of being exactly what they have always claimed
to be: A business to business provider. Wow! I'm shocked at that
revelation. Did you figure that out all by your self or did your mommy and
    daddy tell you?

As far as why Nextel uses Motorola, you really should read the posts before
you respond. Motorola developed and owns the iDen technology. Nextel did
not seek them out because as you state "have always been inflated pricing"
(I thought they taught grammar and composition in elementary school, but
they must be saving that for middle school now).

I for one don't really give a **** about you Nextel trolls. The fact
remains that Nextel is the biggest rip-off of all the providers plain and
simple. They lie at the at the malls with the sales trolls that eventually
turn into bigger liars in the end. If you think I am alone in my opinion you
are more ignorant than you are showing now. I have received call from you
****s trying to con me into more crap with your lies. I can post someone's
name and cell number from Nextel that gave me a line about a deal of an i730
that was bogus. They called me to tell me they were GIVING me another 100
minutes for free because I was a 'Nice Guy' to find out that they changed my
plan and illuminated other features. If you believe I am making this up then
you are again fools. I suppose you think I am here just for the fun of
listening to you lying ****heads then knock your selves out. The others
reading this will understand that I am here with honest complaints. So go
ahead and try to fool the ignorant ones but you will not fool the ones that
    really know.

Good luck with your future as being the low life used car sales men type
and smile as you **** the little people.

Sorry to disappoint you John, I am not a Nextel sales person, just an
informed customer. With an average monthly cost of $70 for a phone, Caveat
Emptor is something to keep in mind. If these people have made false claims
or bogus offers, sue them. I recommend you have actual facts though, not
the terminological inexactitudes you readily spew as fact.

Sorry for the case of mistaken identity but there are many Nextel trolls
posing as honest people. I started out with that size bill but when I wanted
to upgrade my plan they insisted I sign a whole new contract for another
year. I wanted to buy more time and more than double my monthly bill but
they insisted I MUST do as they demand. Just anther outrageous scheme. If
the Nextel trolls can explain any fair logic with this one I am sure many
would like to read about it. NO? I am sure they will say I am again making
    this up.

NexTime.....I love that one...I will have to use it and thank the poster
    that made this analogy.

    Re: Stop whining.

ok, I have read this posting long enough to have a bit of humor. So time to
set the record on it. technically Nextel sells at below cost. With a new
activation and with a 2 yr upgrade, they typically don't start making money
until towards the end of the 1st yr. How do I know you may ask. Well I work
for the big N. Yes I get a reduced rate plans on my personal family phones
"meaning no more than 2" but take for example "But I have to pay the actual
cost of the phone from Motorola. But not only are they taking a hit on the
cost on the phone, but another factor is the commission of the sales rep.
and in so other formula I have no idea...the cost of marketing to get you to
actually go with Nextel. Motorola does offer spiffs, to get them to sell
additional phones and that is why you see price drops. Take this info for
what it is worth, needless to say believe me or not...it's choice and this
is the truth. The trick to solve this is to go on eBay or find a person who
no longer has service or a phone they don't want and use that. That's what I
have had to do......why I agree I am not paying that much for a phone that
does not have that great of signal reception. Just curious what is wrong
with your i730, I maybe able to help you get it back up and running.

I had troubles with the i730 I first received and learned these were
problematic to begin with and needed the fix. I was unable to apply this as
my user is out of state and would remain so from that point on. I requested
a new phone be shipped and was refused with no option to apply working
hardware to my user. A minor child with no knowledge to help herself she
was left in the lurch with faulty equipment. I have also heard of other
rushed out models that may have had problems. I know some would say this is
not the fault of Nextel but one of the phone manufacturer Motorola but I see
this as passing the buck onto the end user and a complete lack of
responsibility. I have moved on to the i860 with no reduced cost for my
trouble and somehow feel Nextel could have been a bit more compassionate.
    WHAT WAS I THINKING?
