need to unlock an i455

i need to unlock an i455...how do i do so? i have carrier rss...

You need to unlock for what? you know it will be nice to have some
info on what is it you whant to do. Most likely your phone is double
locked. If you have rss get your codeplug and post it on one of many
websites around the net that MOD them and then get it back in your
phone.

i need to use it with nextel...that's what i'm trying to do. be able
to put my nextel sim in the boost phone and use it...

You said you have carrier so use it and get your codeplug go to the
comand that says read phone and after it finish save it.After you save
it post the codeplug in the apropiate forum inside www.nextelmodz.com
and ask them nicely to unlock for nextel and after you get it back
open carier again open the mod codeplug and then conect the phone and
write to phone and your done.

i think i did that on my own though - i changed the subsidy lock
sections to no subsidy and disabled, and it still isn't working. is
there more than just that that needs to be changed?

You are playing with disaster if you have no idea what you are doing
let the guys in nextelmodz do the codeplug .There is no way you can
change those setings using carrier because it will not let you save
any changes for that you will need iden lab and that one is very
dificult if not imposible to find.
One setting that you change that is wrong and you will end up with a
very expensive brick,i recomend you post the codeplug and ask politely
what you whant done to the phone and please don use the one you say
you already mod get rid of it and dont put back on the phone again you
are playing with disaster ...but hey its your phone...
