    Verizon is the same. I think they breed them in special cloning rooms
    for the whole telecom industry. If you speak to 8 Verizon people, you
    get 8 different, conflicting stories because there are so many
    different, conflicting accounts that have been setup and cluged up
    over the years. I don't think any two Verizon customers actually are
    charged the same. There are concessions made to prevent churning if a
    customer really presses them on an issue. My bill has all kinds of
    funny concessions built into it because I've been a customer since
    there were two towers here and we all had installed carphones. I
    became a cellular customer from IMTS, way way back.

    The issue with my post was not anything to do with customer service or
    the pack of liars behind the counter trying to keep me from finding
    out how your deal with them differs. My issue is purely operational.
    I've never been a Nextel customer because I've no use for a walkie
    talkie in my business. I use one of my neighbor's Nextel phones who's
    in the electrical business from time to time. My business needs a
    PHONE to answer to the customers, on-the-road. None of my suppliers
    have Nextel to make use of the walkie function. I was interested in
    how well it OPERATED, which I'd rate as much poorer than the Nextel
    phones I've used in my neighbor's business. Nextel isn't an issue
    with me because they do not provide PHONE service out in the boondocks
    where only my AMPS bagphone into a high gain antenna provides
    respectable service. Out were I work, all the little phones are
    mostly useless, no matter what the "rate map" says.

    Verizon store I go to. So I guess if you get a bad meal somewhere, all

    I'm not a pumper or an employee and my Nextel phone and service is
    given to me by my company so it's free; therefore I don't give a
    flaming rats ass about one company or another. If I purchased my own
    phone it would be Cingular which was Bell South here, the wire line
    carrier and the first cellular company here. This proves I could not
    care less about either. I tried the Verizon PTT. It sucks and anyone
    that says it's not noticeable is an idiot EVEN if they have never
    used a Nextel, it's more than noticeable, it's annoying. It's nothing
    more than a simplex phone call disguised as a radio contact. Nothing
    more than a gimminck and even if it get's better, Nextel won't be
    going anywhere, Real business needs a REAL radio. Tell me, how does
    VZN PTT handle group conversations? Yeah, it doesn't....

    Actually, there should be no connect and disconnect. It's supposed
    to be a radio, duhh... That is why after trying it myself I look at
    this as a novelty. It's not the serious business tool I expected and
    I'm a little disappointed because when ever I do get my own cell
    phone again I wanted the DC and the fancy phones you can't get from
    Motorola. The Micro TAC phones were fantastic, now what Motorola has
    barely competes with a Nokia.

    Ive been waiting for this since the beginning of the year when I heard
    it was going to be coming out. Finally got it last week and I cant
    believe how crappy it is.

    1) The delay is way too long. (3-5 seconds)
    2) Connections drop on almost every call
    3) Just to connect takes forever
    4) The battery life on the Motorola is laughable (if you use the PTT on
    speakerphone it will last for about a half hour)

    I know a number of people with Nextel and Verizon doesnt even come close
    to their DC service.

    I called customer service and they said I am the only one who has said
    there are problems (I find it hard to believe since my cousin is
    returning his).
    I think its time to return my equipment and cancel the plan. The CSR
    said there is a 15 day grace period when you can return and cancel.

    I think Verizon pushed this product to the market way before it was
    ready.

    Anyone else here have these problems?
