#1 | | Guest | Hello,
Just recently I tried to remove the guts of my phone to place it into
a new housing/faceplate that I bought off a web site. When I found
that the new housing did not fit the original keypad properly, I
decided to put everything back into the original Motorolla case. Now,
whenever I power up the unit, it is unable to find any signal and
displays "No Service." In addition, the top few lines of the screen
that should display battery life, reception, etc. are completely
blank.
Does anyone know what I need to do to fix my phone? Or what the
problem could be?
Thanks a lot.

Real quick, call up a Nextel authorized repair center (pick one local
to you). Pay for the insurance on it. Its about $2.50 per phone. You
have to apply the insurance to all phones on the account. You might
even have to have at least 2 phones before you can get that insurance.
Wait a day or 2 and take your phone in and get it repaired for free.
Otherwise, go buy a new phone since you broke it.

new phone? Is there any type of card? | | | |

you can purchase the phone from Nextel online or any
other retailer

them to do a swap. that will transfer everything from yout old unit, to
your new one. Just not the phonebook. Also, there is no SIM card in the
i1000+ models.
