Wow! You "forgot"?! You are capable of making an error?! Don't you
think the original poster should be allowed that same luxury?

I don't know what the a55 is, but here's some stuff right on the Siemens
page:
http://www.my-siemens.com/MySiemens/...FDANDA,00.html
Maybe one of those will work.

Re: What Software?
I have contacted Siemens via their website, asking if they have software
available that's compatible with the A55, as I have tried many with no
success.
Here's hoping :-)

Re: What Software?
No problem, at the end of the day I thought thats what newsgroups were all
about, helping one another whether novice or advanced.
If someone asks about a printer in a camera newsgroup as far as I am
concerned is to point that person in the right direction.
Like I said its all about helping one another, lifes to short :-)

software

You might want to try this site for all things Siemens
http://www.club-siemens.net/forum/ I do remember a post in there somewhere
about the A55 not being compatible with the Siemens datasuite software. I
tried to find it but had no joy.
If you're after ringtones for an A55, that can be really difficult as most
midi files are incompatible that work fine with say a Nokia. I've found
about 1 in 20 work from free WAP download sites.
Anyway here is what I did. Ready for this. I downloaded a few zipped files
with emule, so now I've got about 20,000 midi files to mess about with.
Found some in there I liked then converted them with "Coding Polyphonic
Coding Workshop" to Siemens 4 channel format midi files, and saved then on
my hard disk as the local WAP didn't work through my internet gateway (if
you ever use this program you'll understand). I then uploaded them to my
own WAP site and used my phone to download the polyphonic ringtones. Phew
and that took me days to figure out I can tell you.
I now have a few decent poly's to play on my phone and when I get more time
I'll add some more.
Anyway if you have WAP, browse
http://www.acegames.btinternet.co.uk/index.wml (a great site too) and a few
will work with an A55 or http://www.tagtag.com/kjzzz or
http://www.buzzed.co.uk/wap/kjzzz for a few I've been messing with. My own
sites need a lot more work and I apologise for their lack of content.
Hope this helps a little.

Re: What Software?
I was guessing that one of those would work, even though none are officially
for whatever phone he has. But like you said, here's hoping . . .

. . . and given that situation, it would be really kick ass if there were
some kind of universal online forum system where users of similar products
could discuss such problems . . . you know, without a-hole NeTKoPz jumping
in and ruining it.

Also keep up hope that even if Seimens says there is no software, maybe they
mean all the fancy sync and internet stuff is not compatible, and possibly
ringer and picture transfer will still work. Maybe.
