I am new to the wap thing and how in the heck do you get ringtones via wap.
I am in the works of getting a data cable for my nokia 6102 and to get nokia
suite because I used to use mobimb for my nokia 3560 that was non wap with a
data cable. If any one can help it would be appricated. Thanks.

    Hi Lucinda

The most basic way is to simply open up a URL pointing to a
logo/ringtone (no cables needed, just a working WAP service).
The logo/ringtone will then open up on your phone and you just need to
store it. You can try it on my site, www.planetofnoise.com

    Cheers

Well, WAP is a web browsing protocol, same as you use on the internet.
If you have a WAP service enabled, you go to the WAP menu on your phone
and choose something like 'open URL' or 'open location' or something
similar. Then you key in the URL you want to go to. For example, on a
    Nokia 3310i you go:

    'menu'/'services'/'go to address'

then key in the url you want, same as you would a text message.

Here is a description (scroll down) of how you do it on a Motorola T720

    http://www.colinfahey.com/2002dec14_...ring_tones.htm

It will be a similar process no matter whaty your phone, for detailed
    instructions, check your phone manual.

    All the best

    Andy

I went to some site a couple days ago and just said download to phone and I
put my phone number and they i got a message with the pic I wanted and then
I hit download and it went to my phone. So I am thinking I wap but wasn't
sure. I just can't wait till I get my data cable cuz it is soo much easier.

That sounds like getting a logo/tone sent via a message, not by WAP.
Be careful about giving your phone number to companies, all sorts of
crap can come down on you.
