Andy no one doesnt matter who they are, deserves that no matter what
they've done. perhaps someone should keep doing that to ALL YOUR
email addresses. Its also childish and pathetic. I couldnt give a
toss if theyve sold you a stolen phone or not. If you have a rpoblem
with them then you go to the police, trading standards or even get
yourself a solicitor.

It says (after it shows andy won the bid ) in black and white:
Blocked Nokia 6310i mobile phone that was given to me by my friend who
is a black cab driver and found it in the back of his taxi. The phone
is in excellent condition and was originally on orange network. I have
no idea if the phone can be unblocked but believe the phone to be tri
band(not that I know what that means). As the phone is blocked it is
sold as seen with no returns. There is no reserve and I am sure this
will be a bargain for those in the know! There is no sim card.
Basically there is nothing you can do she has told you that the phone
is blocked and was found in a back of her friends black cab with no
sim, what more do you want twat.
Its twats like you that ruin ebay, do you know it costs money to place
an item up for bid? If i was you i would either pay and and re sell
the goods on ebay or offer the lady a settlement for wasting her time
so she can sell it to someone who wants it.

I'm not trying to provoke an argument here, but I think you're missing the
point. The honest thing to do would have been to hand the damn thing in -
after all, it doesn't belong to either the taxi driver or the seller, so
what the legalities of it are, and how plod would look at it, I think you
can have a good guess.
The attitude of the seller is bad enough, but then to have someone who has
knowingly bought it - knowing it's history - ranting about it being stolen,
just goes to show the mentality of both buyer and seller. At the end of the
day, they're both in the wrong, and name calling one or the other isn't
going to help matters.
> Its twats like you that ruin ebay,
No, it's twats like the seller who knowingly sell stolen goods that ruin
EBay.

And if it was me, I'd notify EBay of the sale (which they should have
noticed in the first place), and possibly forward the details on to the
Police (not that I think they'll bother to do anything about it - too busy
checking windscreen washer fluid levels). But then again, some people are
just plain dishonest.

dont worry about it too much smstext addict in my conversations to elaine
(who it would appear is a respected and valued professional member of
society, so i doubt she would be peddling stolen goods, especially as her
job will earn her the value of the fone in a day!!! dont really want to risk
that sort of employment for a quick dodgy deal now do you??!!
she actually sold the fone to the next bidder at the price andy had won it
at!! so andy actually did her a favour at that point by pushing up the final
price lol
the guy really is a stupid twat (andy) and is such a piss poor liar, knows
nothing about covering his tracks and even registers domains that he then
uses to piss poeple off with, in his own name and home address?!?!?!? with
fone number which is 01226 ****** lol i wouldnt be that cruel !! although i
expect andy would be.......just in case there is any comeback from this
little adventure i do have all his details recorded of course....should i
ever need to involve the boys in blue

The legal thing to do would be to make a reasonable effort to find the
owner...after that fails the 'phone is yours. That's the law. There's
nothing about handing it in unless you want to.

Re: i like spam
here is the story from the sellers end, ebay, the fone network and the
police where notified of the fone and it wasnt claimed!
snip """""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""
I was selling a blocked phone which was harmless enough as it had not been
claimed, Andy sent me a nasty e-mail saying he had reported me to e-bay for
selling a stolen phone. For which I replied asking him whether he did this
for a living and did he have nothing better to do. It turns out he sent
e-mails to 9 other e-bay users saying the same threatening message.
He started to get petty and in the final minute outbid our auction and won
it as Fred. When we asked for payment the e-mails were bounced back from
Andy's e-mail address.
We started to investigate why he had so many logons and so many e-mail
accounts and sent the full details to e-bay as it seemed a bit fishy!
He continued to e-mail both of us for which we replied.
We thought everything had stopped until on Wednesday we checked our e-bay
account to find he had left negative feedback saying we had tried to sell
him a stolen phone.
E-bay have not got back to us yet with the findings of their investigation
so I will e-mail them again with the updated information.
end snip """""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""
with regards lost property the law is clear.......if it is not claimed, with
proof of ownership, within 3 months it becomes the property of the finder
(finders keepers and all that)

but not bening funny the description CLEARLY discribed the goods as
being blocked and left in a taxi. ok they should have been handed in,
but why did this andy haigh then go and bid for it?
Was it so he could push the price up ? or was it cos he didnt read the
description, when he realised that no one was going to out bid him he
paniced and started all this fuss up cos he didnt want to be left with
a blocked phone?

Unlocking a phone is NOT anything to do with any security measure, Richard
will not make any stolen phones works, once a phone is blacklisted there
really nothing that can be done to make it work no matter how many unlockers
you take it to, that is not what we do.

you still don't know the facts and the phone was sold to the next
highest bidder.
having a feedback rating of over 400 (700 if you include other auction
sites) I know all about listing fees so don't preach to me.
