Verizon Wireless is promoting its ring-tone service in conjunction with the
holidays, encouraging users to download favorites like "Joy to the World" or
"Jingle Bells."

Verizon said the ring tones will be available through its GetTones offering
and cost around $2 per download.

Separately, AT&T Wireless Services Inc. too sought to promote its ring-tone
service, although with a little more ethnic flavor. The carrier said it will
partner with Faith West Inc. and Wireless Latin Entertainment to offer a
downloadable application dubbed "Latin Garage."

"For the first time, AT&T Wireless customers will have easy access to the
best-sounding beats of Salsa and Samba in the palm of their hands," said
Luis Samra, WILAEN's chief operating officer. "Latin music is hot, growing
twice as fast as the overall music market. 'Latin Garage' will serve this
growing market along with our strategic partner, Faith West."
