Could someone tell me how to transfer files direct to the MMC? Can I use
Bluetooth (this sends the file to my inbox which I presume is fixed in the
phone memory) or will I need a cable?

I hope I don't need PC Suite because I haven't got this working on my pc
    yet.

    Thanks.

Umm if they r pic's tones etc just open them in ya inbox then save - it
ask's u where u want to save them.. phone mem or mem card.
or install selectQ and then cut n paste or copy n paste from the mail folder
to a folder on ya memory card..
just imagine ur phone as a small pc really, if u get an e-mail u want to
keep, you would save it else where wouldn't u well its the same with ya
    phone.. ;o)

Thanks for replying, the thing is, the files I want to send are larger than
the amount of memory on the actual phone! I've bought a 128Mb MMC but I'll
be damned if I can receive anything larger than the phones memory (about 4Mb
    free).

What I'd like to do is send a video clip (55Mb) from my pc so that I can
    view it on my phone.

The cheapest way would be to get pc suite working but failing that,
Prob the easiest way m8 will be to use a card reader.
for that sake of around a tenner ( available at all good Computer
    retailers) --- LoL
either a small external usb type or even one of the 6/7 in 1 jobbies, will
do the job nicely( and transfer is a dame site quicker than Bluetooth,
    especially for large files..
Hope that helps ya a bit.

Thanks. I'll try a card reader and see what happens.

Jessopps (might be a different spilling) the camera shop are selling
umpteen-in-one jobbies for UKP9.99, or at least they were a week or so ago
when I bought mine. Works nicely with the card that came with my 6600.

    Cheers,

    Mark.

it's the damnest thing: after twice installing the suite for 6600 i'd now
rather burn in hell, than try to use it again (can you say 'crappiest
    programming mankind has seen'?).

i too have searched an alternative to the suite's file moving/managing and
the closest i have come was a program which required the pc suite to be
    installed first O_o

all i want is the ability to transfer stuff directly to the memcard; that's
all. and it seems i have to go and buy a damn memcard reader to achieve this
    :P

holler out loud if you find something!

I know. My PC Suite just refuses to see any COM ports on my comp at all.
    (all it offers is IR).

    Hi,

What format is the video clip? mpg, avi?
If you use PC Suite select the file & you can send it anywhere onto the phone or MMC.
Also it will convert the video to .3gp format so your 55mb file ends up as 2mb on your phone.
Ive put loads of video's on mine, it also works with mp3's.

we were trying to fid other ways for Master Numb to transfer because as he
stated "I hope I don't need PC Suite because I haven't got this working
    on my pc yet."
But yes that is the easiest and cheapest way to go.. Personally I have never
really had any prob's with nokia software and have always got it to work ok,
but I Know some ppl either don't or can't get it going so have to explore
    other ways

    Pete,
I have read in here that there is an 'alternative' called 'Oxygen'.

I had the same problem at work,
In the control panel (under your bluetooth)you need to set up some com port's for it to use.
As i said my PC at home was ok and i didn't need to do this but the one at work didn't offer any com ports to use.
Once you have added some com ports the mrouter should find them allowing PC suite to connect.

As someone else has posted there are other ways ie Oxygen etc

PS sorry Lister, i did miss that small point a little in my earlier post :-)
