Nokia MMC lifetime (?)

I have an old 64Mb Nokia MMC (I bought something like 2 years ago for 9210
communicator)
Recently, I was using this card with 6600 phone without problem until couple
of weeks later the phone wasn't able to detect the card anymore. I tried to
format the card without success from the phone. formating it with PC via
card reader worked. At the moment, everytime I'm pluging the card in the
reader for more than 2 minutes, I'm getting error message "memory card not
formated, do you want to format now?"

So basically, the MMC is not usable anymore. Any idea what went wrong? Is
there anyway that I might get this card back to life?

Maybe u should use another device (9210/kodak digicam for example) to format
it. SOmetimes due to FAT16/32 compatibility errors while formatting...
