Bluetooth Signal Strength

I am having troubles backing up my 6600 to my XP Pro PC using a Belkin BT
USB adaptor. I can get individual files and settings but when I do the
backup / restore the mRouter connection seems to disconnect. I have tried
reinstallation of PC Suite using the Nokia clear out utility, and also the
latest BT drivers from Belkin, shutting down Anti-Virus and also Firewall
apps but all with no results. The last thing I have looked is the Bluetooth
signal strength and no matter where I put the adaptor the signal strength is
terrible and so I am at a loss and seeking any help / advice. One other
point is that the BT adaptor I have is a quite old and is a Belkin F8T001
could this be the source of my problems ?

Thanks.

I'm getting exactly the same problems! When I connect using the bluetooth
serial port it says 'Error creating 'Bluetooth Serial Port' connection with
device'. It then states that bluetooth serial com port 0 will be used to
connect with device although when I look in the Properties menu of mRouter
it says it has connected on com 4 and doesn't have an option to connect via
com 0 as the list starts at com 1.

Yet, PC suite still will transfer files to and from the phone although it
will not let me backup!

How annoying.

I also forgot, when I look at my signal strength it's always 'poor' unless I
place the phone right next to the bluetooth dongle where it states that the
signal strength as 'good' although the data transfer rate doesn't change as
long as it's within about 12 or so metres!

I also have the F8T001.

Re: Bluetooth Signal Strength

i have the same thing but dont have problems like that, then again its an
ngage not a 6600 so the source could be elsewhere....

that works....

Re: Bluetooth Signal Strength

Aye have tried loads of different ports on the mRouter side of things.
Personally I think, much like the 7650 PC suite, the application sucks.

3650, PC Suite, Belkin BT2000C, Belkin software. (not a laptop)

Same thing I can transfer anything, but have never completed a backup always
disconnects midway through.
