Can anyone recommend a Bluetooth dongle to use with my Nokia 6600.
I currently have a TDK adapter, but it always has initial connection
problems and its a pain to get it to work.
I would like it to auto connect on seeing the mobile, without me having to
click on icons etc. Is this possible?

Mark,
have you paired the phone & computer BT dongle on the phone?.
You should do so they can connect automatically.

Re: Nokia 6600 and Bluetooth
Yes they are paired, but i still have to double click on the serial port
connect, which fails a few times then it connects.

I think that's normal. Does the same for me on 3650.
Obviously not all companies that make Bluetooth enabled stuff have
exactly the same ideas about how it should work. But we're now at
the point that it mostly sort of works. Kinda.

But is it the bluetothe adapter I am using on the PC that causes the
problems or is it the phone.

Re: Nokia 6600 and Bluetooth
no its the drivers (software) thats the prob and the software of the
phone...
actually the Bluetooth SIG group is responsible for this crap situation, but
when you get greedy fat corportions running a Standards Group...thats what
you get...
wanna gripe...send an email to your adapter company, phone maker company and
the SIG group...
tell them they are crap heads...
cheers

Who knows.. when two pieces of a puzzle don't quite fit together you
can't blame either of them. Both my USB adapter as well as the
Nokia phone have weird quirks. (and ESPECIALLY the PC Suite software
that still runs on a virtual serial port!!)

I use a 6600 with my Macintosh PowerBook laptop via BlueTooth with
absolutely no problems. There's nothing wrong with the BlueTooth
implementation in the 6600.

Re: Nokia 6600 and Bluetooth
My TDK seems to work fine.. True I have to click on the BT system tray icon,
get an error msg saying remote device has terminated connection. But when I
get the error, don't click OK - just leave error displayed for a few more
seconds and it connects fine.
I did notice the other day that my BT adapter kept finding the phone and
connecting automatically even tho I'd not initiated a connection, no idea
why it did it or if I set anything in the BT software to make it poll for
the phone.
I've tried several BT adapters and all of them are the same (ish) the TDK is
the best I've used.
