Hi,
Prior to carrying out a reset of my UK o2 6600 tonight, I was looking
around the menus, and noticed an icon which looked like a piece of a jigsaw
puzzle. There was no text below it, and clicking on it didnt seem to
trigger anything. Since the reset, it has gone, and its bugging me that i
dont know what it was. You know how it is
Ive only had the phone for a week, and have used it very little so far -
Ive used the camera, done a little wap browsing, but thats all. I havent
installed any additional apps, etc.
Ive done some research, but cant find any information regarding this icon.
Its trivial, i know, but any info would be much appreciated,
Cheers,
M

Re: Strange 6600 Icon
This "jigsaw" like icon is usually the default icon for a java app (if this
app doesn't have a specific icon of it's own that is)
So probably you had a java app that was installed partially (?) or
corrupted.

Re: Strange 6600 Icon
Not just a java app - any app which doesn't have an icon will display the
jigsaw. Why you'd have one with no title is a mystery - I thought it would
display the filename of the app if there was no title associated with it.

Re: Strange 6600 Icon
it may be that the seller had something on it and a full factory reset may
fix it but as an option here is another fix that should work to remove the
unwanted icon
install a better file manager and locate the icon and delete it, worked for
me when i have had the odd erant icon.
http://mynokia6600.blogspot.com/ myblog on the 6600
http://www.russellbeattie.com/notebo....html#comments another good
blog
and look with google for FEexplorer , thats the file manager you want....
good luck

Re: Strange 6600 Icon
What colour was the jigsaw? If it was grey and had a red or blue block, it
would be a Java application. If the jigsaw was yellow or green, it means an
Application Information File for a program has become corrupted or deleted.
