I installed it just as the instructions said and all that stuff and it
didn't work, it says that the cell phone is not connected!
Now, my cousin told me to try using the Nokia PC Suit software, it
went well but im having the same problem!.. it's not recongnizing the
cell phone connection but the computer prompted me about the USB
hardware connection installed propertly and everything.

<it says that the cell phone is not connected!>
    Mary,
I believe I have the answer to your problem. I, too, bought the 3595 usb
cable off eBay and had the same problem. Please look at the pins on your
cable. Make sure that 4th pin extends all the way out and is level with the
other 3 - make sure you gently push it in the phone - if you push too hard
the pin just shoves back down - take the battery/cable back out and you will
see what I mean because it gets pushed back down easily I had to do this
several times and pulled it level with tweezers. They should all be the same
length to make contact. What happens is the cable is modified so it will
work with the 3595 and I think the pin that gets modified is the one that
causes the trouble. Good luck and please post if that solved your problem.

Re: NOKIA 3595 DATA CABLE PROBLEM

I am having this problem as well. I found that one of the pins did
indeed get pushed down further than the rest, but I pulled it back up,
and still did not have any success. Sometimes the phone complains that
it doesn't have a sim card. I am guessing that the pins aren't
contacting properly when I get that message.

< found that one of the pins did

I had to pull the pin back up several times - and then I kind of twisted it
around so it wouldn't get pushed out of place. But the real key is to
GENTLY INSERT IT - I though I wasn't making contact but I was pushing the
battery/cable back in too hard - keep checking that pin - because that
    probably is the problem. DonnaB

<I had to pull the pin back up several times...>
Thanks for the reply Donna. I will try it again. I also discovered
that my phone was "offline" for 24 hours or so after I messed with it
(I'm signed up through T-Mobile. Thought that was a little curious.
Did I piss the phone off? Did I piss T-Mobile off somehow?
