Nokia Tones 6600 = Boring

Is there any way i can get tones from other Nokia's on my 6600? I know its a
business phone, but does that mean i have to be inept of personality to use
it? I think not.

you can downlaod a ****load of tones for it, personalise it, make new tones
up ...

inept on your part for not reading anything about it....

Actually, my question was weather or not I could get tones from OTHER nokias
for it, as there were some tones on the 7600 that I really liked?

So the question is, can i get tones, somewhere on the internet that have
been taken from other nokia phones?

Yes.....you can get the old tunes...

But then why did you buy the phone which can do everything...??

Get some Wav's amd put it on them .... much better!
Or sell it and get a " normal " phone... which is not very hard at all....

Okay, right heres the deal,
I like my phone, i don't like the selection of ringtones, therefore I want
to get ones, but i want ringtones from other nokias?

The question i'm asking is weather I can or not, and if i can, where do I
find them

My problem isn't the phone, it isn't the fact that I wnt different
ringtones, its the fact that i want ringtones from OTHER NOKIA's

If anyone could direct me towards where i could find such information as to
the where and how of obtaining ringtones from other nokia phones that are
BUILT IN UPON MANUFACTURE, then i would be most greatful

Just a re-iteration - problem not phone, not ringtones i can get elsewhere,
not the fact that the phone can do a ****load of other stuff. This is a
simple request for information, nothing else, and i don't need my buying
habits questioned, i'm very good at shopping...

Put old phone and new phone next to each-other.
Put 6600 into record mode.
Play tone on old phone.
Tell 6600 to use new recording as ring-tone.

Please tell me if it does weird things.

The 7600 is a S60 phone so its ringtones should be stored as MIDI files in
Z:\Nokia\Sounds\Digital\

You can't write to that directory because it's ROM, but most any "explorer"
type application (i.e. FExplore, SeleQ) should be able to read the Z drive
and let you copy those MIDI files to an MMC or transfer them to another
phone or to your computer by BT, IrDA, etc. Where you get the 7600 is up to
you, but maybe you can find a user here who is equipped to help you.
