howdi fellow Nokiers,
can someone please remind me (it isn't all that obvious from just playing,
and i lost
the manual and CD) how to lock the screen (and also how to unlock it)?
also, once i know how to do that, how can i assign a quick handle to it?
like put it in goto,
or even assign one of default buttons (either left or right).
muchas gracias
cheers, gil

You can lock the keyboard after pressing a sequence of two buttons, the left
upper followed by the left under. Unlock in the same way. There is software
to configure the 6600 in a way of your choice.

Re: Nokia 6600: lock keypad, unlock keypad
thank you for the tip. works great !
are there any other 2 stroke goodies that is good to know about?
the problem about 2 key strokes is that those are not findable by rumaging
through the menues...
you also mention that there is software to turn that into a single key
stroke,
what kind of software is that? what is it called, how do i get a hold of
it?
could i program the right key to be the same as "left key, then *"? could
i then label it "lock/unlock"? if i crate a lock/unlock key definition, can
i stick
it in the "goto" group? i guess, it is almost not work pursuing. what's a 1
key
versus 2 keys strokes? i had thought originally that it would be longer
then just
2 keys...
i still miss my good old motoral with the flip phone that i could just close
it up,
stick in my pocket and not worry about stupid strokes that my pants
generate,
cause i can't always remember to press the lock-it combo....
thanks again
cheers, gil

Take a look at www.handango.com and search there for PowerLock (from
SymbianWare) I use that program because it was my choice out of several
other programs who can lock de keyboard automatically. With PowerlLock you
can make your own code. and you can get a nice screensver on the display. I
choose a big round analog clock with also seconds. You can change a lot of
setting according to your own taste. It also turns the display light on as
long as you charge the battery.
