Can one of you nice chaps help me out. Just changed my 6100 to a 7250i
and don't like any of the ring tones, but have some on the 6100 I want
to transfer over. If you can't do phone to phone, how do I single out
tones to the PC and send them back to the 7250i using the PC suite 5?
Also, is there no option to save texts to the sim card on the 6100?
& shouldn't I have got a CD with the 7250i like I did with the 6100?
Sorry for all the questions!! Thanks in advance.

Assuming you can connect both your 6100 and 7250i to your PC (via IR or
Cable) then you can use PC Suite's phone browser to go to the Tones folder
on your phone and copy the relevent ring tones out. They're essentially midi
files and you can play them in WinAmp or Media Player. Do the reverse to
copy them onto your 7250i.

No.
Nokia seem to like you to download PC Suite and the latest drivers off their
website. Everything is on there if you can find it. It's an upcoming trend
to not give people CDs with products. As you can imagine, a company like
Nokia with a huge quantity of consumer products out there would get
absolutely inundated with support calls about problems with software and
drivers provided on CD relating to problems they had probably fixed months
previously. Not providing a CD is fine for most people as the vast majority
of phone owners would never use PC Suite or bother installing modem drivers
etc as they just want a phone. It saves Nokia money not having to make,
package and distribute loads of CDs which would mostly end up as coasters.

Re: 6100 to 7250i please help
Thanks for the info, I have PC suite 5, never even seen 'phone
browser' on it? The only options I had or so I thought were just
copying contacts & texts. That's all that is on offer when I use
content copier.
As for the CD, I did get one with the 6100 which is what is on my PC
now, but not on the 7250i but I'd heard some people did get them....
Must hunt out phone browser... where is it?? Cannot believe you
don't get the normal ring or low ringing tone on the 7250i. That's all
I wanted!! The ones on here are dreadful. My colleague who has the
Panasonic X70, the ring tones on there are far superior, probably
actual samples as it goes.

Re: 6100 to 7250i please help
Can someone/anyone please tell me where the phone browser is in PC
Suite? I cannot see it anywhere? How do you sort what you want to save
other than the automatic Address & Text back ups? That's all I get

Re: 6100 to 7250i please help
Inclined to agree with you and seeing as how nobody has answered the
question about saving tones to the PC suite, I can't wait any longer
as you only have 7 days to send back upgrades before you are lumbered
with it, so.... shame, thought someone would know the answer to that
question... back to the 6100

Re: 6100 to 7250i please help
Are you telling me that not one person on this forum can tell me how
to save a standard ring tone to the PC Suite? I asked where I can find
the phone browser in PC suite? Really, honestly, NOBODY knows? Can u
save graphics too? Content copier doesn't give me the option.

Re: 6100 to 7250i please help
Did it occur to you to read the whole thread where someone has said
"you can use PC Suite's phone browser to go to the Tones folder on
your phone and copy the relevent ring tones out".. I just asked where
the phone browser is?? If that is incorrect then why doesn't someone
just say so
