This sucks! isn't there any way to 'unlock' ur phone so that the transfer
    would work?

    No,

I called Nokia Guy he said "Yes it's possible(change phone software) but he
can't because agreement between Nokia and Bell mobility.

Bell mobility is there for make money. So, I can download the ringtones by
Bell web site only and Bell charge 1.50$ each ringtones.

    ********************************************************************

The Nokia customer service representative indicated that three features were
    disabled
on the phone at the request of carrier, Bell Mobility in this case. These
    features are:

    a.. Transfer of ring tones;
    b.. Transfer of applications; and
    c.. Transfer of games.

So get an independent to do the job. Either that or buy the kit to do it
    yourself.

What's wrong with using other WAP sites?

making money is absolutely fine... intentionally handicapping
technology in order to gouge your customers ISN'T

You might as well complain to Nokia about them removing the ability to send
    ringtones OTA as well then.

I must compliment you on the way you managed to ignore the other points I
raised. There are solutions to the problem - either have the firmware
re-flashed with the original un-bastardised versions, or use some of the
many free WAP sites already available to download for free.

Fine. Nokia are bastards as well, for designing a fine product and
then allowing it to be handicapped. But Bell are the bigger poroblem
    because they're the initiator.

Your other points are irrelevant, at least to me. The whole point of
having the cable is to be able to personalize your phone in the
comfort and privacy of your own home, without beating your head
against the wall trying to find a REAL site that gives out ring tones.
That's assuming that you can find the ring tones that you are
interested in... which I personally never would, because i'm not
looking for the typical top-40 crap.

Point two, most cell-phoner users aren't in a position to be familiar
enough with technology to be flashing firmwares - most of them can
barely run their own computers or even tie their shoes while chewing
gum. My main point is this: a decent and honest company would not
pull stunts like Bell pulled. But that's probably why i'm in
healthcare, and not the business world... i like to help people, not
    screw them over.

But then, is Bell a decent and honest company?
