#1 | | Guest | Hi all,
My phone got wet (how stupid), now it does work, and it does give light (the
display and buttons), only no messages, numbers whatsoever.
I contacted Nokia, and they say you can never repair a phone that has
waterdamage. Do you agree?
What if I buy a new display? Does that help or is it really a 'deeper'
problem?
Hope u can give me feedback.
Thanks,
Jose

The phone needs completely stripping and the circuit board cleaning in an
ultrasonic bath. However, if you've left the battery on whilst the phone is
still wet, there is little to no chance that it will be recoverable.

Ultrasonic bath !?!
I dropped my 8310 in the bath, absolutely waterlogged, wouldn't work at all.
Stripped it and put all the parts on a radiator, I kept trying it and no
luck it was just dead. 3 days later it was working fine.
Don't give up on it, dry it out thoroughly, you never know

You were very lucky.

Very true, but water damage can still cause corrosion even after you've
dried the phone out, so I'd still advise getting the board cleaned proprly.
