Problems uninstalling Nokia Suite 4.06

Hi,

I have recently brought a datacable for my Nokia 7250i, and have downloaded
the driver for this cable along with Nokia Suite 516 from the Nokia site.

However, as i have previously used my old Nokia 6210 with Nokia Suite 4.06,
i get an error when trying to install Nokia Suite 516, saying i need to
uninstall the previous version i have on my system. However, i am not able
to uninstall this under control panel (when i click remove, nothing happens)

Has anyone any ideas how i can remove this software??

Which cable? Serial or USB, original or copy?

its a serial cable, copy i think. but its the fact that i cant uninstall
the previous version of software which is causin the prob atm... any ideas?

its pointless installing the new pc suite then. pc suite for 7250i
will only work with the official usb dku-5 nokia cable or irda.

well ok, but how on earth do i uninstall the previous nokia suite anyway,
cos ive no use for it now

4.06 is loading on start-up and you need to stop this.

With regedit delete the 4.06 entry under:
Hkey_local_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\run

Or

Under XP run msinfo32.exe and uncheck the program under the start-up
entries.

<reboot>

Now you have two options.

Reinstall 4.06, reboot and attempt to uninstall it again, or install
516 and hope it overwrites any needed files.

Note: it's msinfo32.exe under WK2, not sure what it is under XP
msinfo.exe(?).

will get you there.

It won't work even if you do manage to install the software. The DKU-5 is
USB, and PC-Suite is fussy as hell with the USB clones, so you haven't got a
prayer with a serial version.

to uninstall old app,
reinstall OLD app (pc suite) then uninstall it by the recommended method
thru control panel
then install new app
should work
