9210i DataSuite & USB2Serial Converter

Hi,

I have a new laptop which only has USB Ports. I have purchased a USB
to Serial converter but Win XP bluescreens when trying to backup or do
anything with the DataSuite when accessing my 9210i.

Has anyone tried a USB 2 Serial converter and got it to work?

Use the IR port of ur laptop. (I believe its a stupid laptop though - dont u
have an option for an er....desktop adapter or something that u plug into
the back of the laptop and it'll give u the additional serial ports etc?)

The "Port Replicator" which connects to the back opf my HP notebook
costs rounf $300, so it's not even an option. The PC Suite does not
pickup the phone when trying to use the IR port, apparently the IR
issue is a known problem with XP and the 9210i Data Suite
