7250 infrared stopped working

Hi

Recently my infrared has stopped working - I can't use it to connect
to my laptop or other phones any more, and it used to work perfectly.
My laptop can recognise my gf's 7650 so my laptop's IR isn't broken.

When I enable IR on the phone and place it next to the laptop, the
laptop's IR icon in the system tray just carries on flashing every few
seconds without any change.

I did recently download and upload lots of stuff to the phone (several
megs) but IR ports don't wear out do they?... I also recently changed
sim cards.

Any ideas? I have already tried turning off the phone, clearing out
some of the gallery and reducing the max IR data rate on my laptop to
115kbps, all things I found in searches, but no help. I don't use
Nokia Connection Manager to connect, I use MobiMB.

Not a flicker, damn. Guess it's got to be repaired if I want it to
work again unless any other ideas?

Just enough to prove if it's your phone or not.

Got a video\phone camera available?

Turn on your phone's IR and look at it through the camera. You should
see a bright spot where your IR port is, if not, it's a phone problem.

I also use this method to out check my remote controls. I see it as an
undocumented feature of my 3650... as a battery checker
