Hi, The software on my phone has become corrupt. Everytime i start the
phone it loads as normal and after a few seconds resets its self, but
if i press names for example and go in to a menu it doesn't reset
until I exit. Tis leads me to believe there is a problem with the
    software.

Can anyone please tell me where i can download firmware for the 3410?

    Cheers

Actually he could, but the cost of the required equipment to do it
    *properly* is probably somewhat prohibitive..!

I am sure you can buy a cable that plugs in to the parrellel port on
your computer allowing the new software to be flashed on to your
    phone.

    Is this not true?

    Thanks

Yes, but this method is notoriously unreliable. The only safe way is with
professional equipment costing serious money, somewhere in the order of
£200 here in the UK, hardly economic for an individual.

Hence the recommendation to go to a Nokia Service Centre.

As the 3410 is DCT3, the risks are considerably lower than using a cheap
DCT4 flasher. The OP could use a flasher cable and Rolis or similar, but
personally I'd recommend getting hold of a Dejan dongle which will probably
come with either WinDDP or WinDLS - either of which should have no problems
(in their later incarnations) flashing a 3410. However, the OP will still
have to get hold of the flash files, but at least going the Dejan route will
allow him to use proper flash files rather than the combined ones that the
    flasher cable route demands.

If the phone's under warranty that's always good advice, or if it's not
under warranty and the OP decides that he doesn't want to spend the money
purchasing out of date kit that's only any use for DCT3 handsets, then
ourselves or many of the regulars that post here could do the work easily
    enough.

I am considering buying a Dejan dongle, but i am still left with the
problem of getting hold of the firmware. How do i get hold of it? Can
    I download it?

The problem is that most sites that host firmware get shut down very quickly
by Nokia for distributing their copyrite material. However, there are one
or two out there, as usual, Google is your friend - or alternatively try
some of the better forums around such as http://beam.to/gsmforum

Once you have bought the kit, and got the firmware you need, make sure you
know what you're doing BEFORE you attempt to flash the phone.
