1 Get the latest Firmware from your Nokia Service Centre.
2 Choose the shortest ringtone (f.e. Single beep)
Should be quite fast then, about 3 sec.

You can with standard GSM */# codes.
*61*[+full number including country code/area code/voicemail
number]*11*30# will forward to voicemail after 30 seconds e.g.
*61*+4479507XXXXX*11*30# diverts to voicemail.
Delay can be varied between five and thirty seconds.

This may not work with some PAYG/PAYT services.

Is this the same as the delay before auto-answer..? The OP wanted to know
how to alter the delay before the phone answers when in a car kit, which
doesn't seem the same thing as altering the delay before voicemail divert.

I've had the fail-to-answer bug too. I also sometimes find the handsfree
doesn't always kick-in when the phone is placed in the cradle, I have to
release it and then reinsert it several times.
