nokia 7210 screensaver

does anyone know if the 7210 screensaver can be turned off and how. tried
various settings but still wont switch off

Nokia have disabled it from being turned off. This is because it is a
battery saving feature of the colour screen. The screen goes dark, and
displayes a monochrome clock, this stops the battery being wasted by
colours and displays the clock so that ya' know the time. If you really want
to turn it off, set the timeout for 60 mins or so.

have already set it for 60:00 but really wanted it off altogether

I considered trying to turn it off on my 7250i, but it makes sense really to
leave it on, because it saves a lot of battery!

without the screensaver your battery will last a couple of hours!!!

whats the big deal anyway?...why do you need to see the phone screen all the
time?

True Alistair. On the 7210 + 7250i (not sure bout other models) the
notifications of missed calls/messages/keypad lock/silent alert are all
displayed wither side of the clock on the screensaver. I think this is a
really good idea. The battery life would be severly impaired if the
screensaver was turned off.

as far as I know (and all the nokia models I've had) this information is
indeed visible...no need to see the full display all the time.
