Hi all!
I was restoring my messages from pc to the phone through the irda port, when
suddenly the phone turned off. I have not been able to turn it on again.
It's dead. I don't know what to do, please, any idea?
Thanks in advance

Daryl,
I had a similar problem when using irda via Oxygen Phone Manager on a 6610
(phone died and was unable to turn it back on). Took it to a nokia service
centre who reflashed the phones software as it had somehow become corrupted.
If your phone is under warranty they will do it for free (most of them
should also be able to do it in under an hour if you wait). If not, should
only be £10-15. Check out Nokia's website for your nearest service centre,
somewhere under support section.
Kind Regards,
Froggy

buy a IR to USB adaptor = cheapest way

Not sure if it is the cheapest way- but I do prefer the USB infrared
adapters as they still keep any com port free (if you have one on the
laptop in the first place) and their drivers seem to be much better
than the serial equivalent.
I use the Actysis IR4000U and recommend it to anyone- I have had no
problems with it and it is compact and silver which looks great with
my laptop and is really convenient. I have also used it with its
extension cable (provided free) with my PC- and again, no problem with
the drivers.
I purchased direct from LogoManager, as I knew they would guarantee
support with the phone and software. You might want to check their
infrared ports out at
http://www.logomanager.co.uk/php/cat.php?cat=infrared
They also offer the cheaper serial and internal alternatives, as well
as two choices of USB ports.

Do remember that the 8310 IR port does not work at full speed (I
think it was a bug) and you will have to configure it run at
something in the order of 56,000 or 112,000.
