I have a Nokia 7600 which I bought on 3G. I have unlocked it with a code but
it has a thing built into the firmware which blocks outgoing calls after 2
weeks (mad I know but true).
So I need the normal Nokia 7600 3.05 firmware to fire onto the phone, would
anyone be able to send this to me?
I am getting lend of a fbus data cable tomorrow so this should do the job..
I can then do a hard reset after and get back the hidden menu as well which
will allow me to set the phone as 2G instead of 3G...
Any information on doing this would be GREAT ...

No way on Earth are you flashing a DCT4 (or DCT3 for that matter) Nokia with
an F-bus data cable! You need either Twister, Griffin or Prodigy at the
very least for a 7600.

ah right. I thought it may come to that...
what and where would be the cheapest solution then to purchase one of these
or should I just wait and get the carphone warehouse to do it?
Many thanks man,

None of them are cheap, all cost approx £200 upwards. Prodigy is probably
the simplest to use, Griffin has the heritage vote but is getting very long
in the tooth now, and Twister is far and away the best solution (don't let
anyone tell you that USF is as flexible - it isn't). Not all suppliers are
shipping them with 7600 cables yet, so if you do decide to buy one make sure
you ask.
If it's just the one phone to do, you'll be better off paying someone to do
the work for you (CPW may well flash it, but I doubt if they'll unlock and
decustomise it). If you do decide to buy one of the boxes, we do Twister at
www.gsm-solutions.co.uk but are getting very low on stock (and it could be a
couple of weeks before we get any more in). Also, don't be tempted into
buying a Prodigy clone as they can't flash the 7600 properly at the moment.
BTW, please don't top-post, it really screws the thread up.

Why isn't USF any good?
You are contraticting yourself there, because Twister is the same product,
and has been shipped with 7600 cables for the past month now, and you can
pick it up for as little as £175.00 + postage.

I never said it wasn't any good, just not as good as Twister.

Really? Where's the card flasher then?

So what? UFS is in essence a cut down version of Twister, as such, it isn't
as flexible. As you're currently (apparently) out of stock on Twister
boxes, I suppose it's not too surprising that you'd be pushing UFS. As for
7600 cables, just because you're shipping with them doesn't mean everyone
else is.
I'd still recommend that people go for Prodigy if they want simplicity (even
though UFS, Griffin and Twister all are far better products, and even though
we don't stock it) but if people want the most flexible and best solution,
then at the moment Twister is the way to go.
