simple question for nokia 6230 owners

hello,

i have a few questions for anyone that owns/has owned a 6230.

1. i have read a few sites that say the phone is very buggy and also not
very user-friendly with regards to the keypad etc. is this true?

2. can i view web pages like a normal pc browser using either built-in or
3rd party software? or is the browser a simple text-only browser?

3. could i log into hotmail and check/send emails from my phone? view
attachments etc?

4. also if you have any opinions/annoyances of the phone please let me know.

thanks very much

All phones probably have some bugs.. Havent noticed much in mine.
Keyboard wise, depends on each persons view.

I find the 4-way nav key a bit awkward at times,
and I wish the green answer and red hangup keys were a bit easier ta

When using WAP, ya generally have to go to WAP pages to display them.
I havent used it, but I believe it displays graphics.
You will never get a page display like on ya PC, screen doesnt have
the size or resolution

Yep, I believe ya can. IIRC when looking, there is a hotmail link from
my vodafone WAP page. And I believe it does do attachments, but
probably limited to certain types.

Well, EVERY one will have different opinions on that question.

I have had several Nokias, last being a 6310i. I then went to a Sony
Ericsson T610, but got rid of it coz screen was hopeless in daylight.
Then bought the 6230, coz I missed the Nokia.

However, as much as I wasnt mad on the SE t610, once going back to the
Nokia, there are features I wish the Nokia had, that the T610 had.

I could list a number of comparisons, but that is only my opinion.

If ya like, and are used to , nokia phones, you will like the 6230

1. very buggy but problems will get ironed out eventually depends how
long you can wait, they are just annoying bugs don't stop you enjoying the
phone.

I've found the keypad to be excellent, not good for big thumbs though if
you've got them.

2. Most sites can be viewed in the XHTML browser 2.0, sites that have odd
coding etc will not display. You can scroll left right up down etc on the
XHTML page. Some images may not be displayed because the phone doesn't have
enough memory to show all the images. So graphic rich sites aren't very
good. But simple sites are good.

3. You will be able to log into Hotmail but you won't be able to add
attachments. The phone has the ability to check/send via pop and smtp
servers for email if you have a proper email address. As long as you know
all your settings.

4. The plug in hands free bends off to the right meaning you have to hold
the phone with your left hand (okay if you are left handed) when got hands
free on and you are listening to MP3's, films etc.

Re: simple question for nokia 6230 owners

thanks very much for your replies guys.

i would very much like to know the features sony had that nokia didn't.

i know what you mean about nokia's though, they have good features that you
take for granted after owning one for a while.

i think the 6230 is a great phone in terms of features. the only things that
are putting me off are the small keys (worried it might get to me after a
while because i text a lot), the "bugs" and also the SE k700 that comes out
soon in uk. but i have never owned a se before.
